Every eighth child needs additional support

Around 12% of children in each generation in Serbia require additional support with learning.

That is why it is important that every child has the opportunity to progress alongside their peers.

Humanoid robots bring new opportunities for social interaction and learning for children with autism. Their presence encourages behaviours that children might not otherwise demonstrate — for example, a child who has difficulty responding to a peer’s greeting will often respond to a robot’s greeting.

This appeal of robots opens the door to developing communication, attention, and inclusive learning, enabling children to overcome social and educational challenges more easily.

Four ways in which robots transform the classroom

🤝

Encourage social interaction

Robots facilitate communication among children, making social situations more accessible and less stressful.

👩‍🏫

Support for teachers

Teachers can plan creative activities, adjust their lessons to a real-life situation and use robots as motivators and facilitators during class.

🎯

Personalisation and responsiveness

Teachers can control the robot’s animation and speech, add motivational phrases or personalise what the robot says, providing every child with individualised support.

🌍

Opportunities for all students

Robots are not intended only for children with disabilities. In schools, they can also be used as programming tools in computer science classes, providing opportunities for all students to learn while contributing to inclusion.
