Every child is unique and precious. For a child to grow and thrive, they need love, care and support, and they receive these from the people closest to them.
Children look to their parents for security, comfort and support. Their self-image, identity and understanding of the world are shaped by this first relationship they have with their parents. It is through this relationship that the foundations are laid for the skills children will rely on throughout their lives.
The knowledge and skills that mothers and fathers use to support their child's development are essential for a happy upbringing – knowing how to respond when a child has tantrums, when development does not go as expected, when they start nursery, school, and when they begin testing parental boundaries.
That is why parents need the right support to help them do their best in one of life’s most important roles.

We do not want the support system for parents to feel like a maze, but to open all the doors that parents knock on and show them a solution to their parenting dilemmas.
We need your support to provide parents with effective community services, public health nursing support, parenting schools and specially designed spaces in health centres where both children and parents will feel welcome and supported.

What is the UNICEF Friends Club?
The UNICEF Friends Club is made up of regular donors whose monthly contributions enable UNICEF to provide vital support for children both in emergency situations and every day throughout the year, as part of its regular programme for children in Serbia.
