Say: I am

The world is changing. Children must not be left behind.

Nowadays, we are facing the greatest crisis that has affected children since 1946. The unprecedented decline in global donations has left millions of children without basic protection – without vaccines, food, access to education and safe homes.

Who is going to stand with children when they need it most?

Say: “I AM!”

Serbia has achieved significant progress for children. Yet, many challenges still persist:

  • Children account for only 17% of Serbia's population.
  • One out of five children are at risk of poverty.
  • Every year, more than 60,000 preschool-age children and their families need support to overcome developmental disabilities and difficulties.
  • More than half of the most vulnerable children fail to achieve the basic literacy level.
  • One out of four school-age children experience irritability.
  • More than 5,200 children are growing up without parental care.

These are not problems that will be faced by children in the future. This is happening now. Owing to the global financial crisis, children in Serbia could also be left without key UNICEF programmes – from early interventions, to high-quality inclusive education, to protection against violence. Now is the time to ask ourselves: “Who is going to protect children when they are the most vulnerable?"

With your support, UNICEF will continue to deliver life-saving supplies and provide necessary assistance to children.
Every child matters. And every donation makes a difference.

Children are not responsible for the crises in which they are growing up. We must not leave them on their own!

The outstanding progress achieved for children since 1990 shows that it is possible to change the world. I believe that investing in children yields multiple benefits – for every child, for every community, for society as a whole. By investing in children, we invest in love, hope and a better future. This is why I am proud to support UNICEF and the campaign ‘I AM’. Together, we can make sure that every child has the childhood he or she deserves“, said Ana Ivanović, UNICEF National Ambassador for Serbia.

„Investing in children is so much more than helping – it is the smartest investment we can make as a society. Every dinar invested in children pays manifold returns – through healthier generations, educated young people and stronger communities. This is why support to UNICEF is not only an act of solidarity, but also a strategic decision for our shared future. I am – because I believe in the power of investing in what matters most“, argues Aleksandar Saša Djordjević, UNICEF National Ambassador for Serbia.

Celebrities supporting the “I AM” campaign

In Serbia, the “I AM“ campaign is supported by UNICEF National Ambassadors Ana Ivanović and Aleksandar Saša Djordjević, as well as celebrities Voja Brajović, Anica Dobra, Nikola Kojo, Marina Maljković, Milan Marić, Sloboda Mićalović, Nenad Okanović, Dragana Kosjerina, Dragan Mićanović, Kristina Radenković, Marčelo, Nataša Kovačević, Miloš Biković, Jelena Tomašević, Miloš Milovanović, Aleksandra Radović, Slaven Došlo, Hristina Popović, Jovan Matić, and many more. Moreover, our partner company Nelt Group’s staff are going to join the campaign with their monthly donations.

Together, they are sending the message:

“We are an indestructible force fighting for the future of every child.”

When „the individual (I)“ takes a step to change things for the better, „the collective (WE)“ becomes a force of good for children.
Yes, I AM! Yes, WE ARE! Standing with every child!
